We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Chef Hong Le and his team at The Monkey Gallery Dining for an inventive, creative 14-course dinner. We enjoyed every single dish. Each one was an absolute creative masterpiece.

It was our first dinner of 2020 and with seats limited. The lucky 20 members and their guests who secured places are still raving about this event.

Tet is the Vietnamese New Year and is the most important festival and public holiday in Vietnam. It comes on the first day of the first month of the ancient lunisolar calendar. This typically puts “Tet” in late January or early February on the Gregorian Calendar.

The holiday is celebrated for several consecutive days. This year the celebrations started on January 25th.

Tet is the definitive Vietnamese holiday given that 'Tet' itself means 'festival' and is the shortened version of 'Tết Nguyên Đán', which is Sino-Vietnamese for 'Feast of the First Morning of the First Day'.

Accordingly, in the days leading up to the event we had commenced our celebrations in this spirit, “chúc mừng năm môi” and all the best for the upcoming lunar New Year.

During our initial review and tasting of the menu for this dinner at Monkey Gallery, we were consistently wowed and amazed by the superb mix of ingredients and advanced culinary techniques presented by the kitchen staff.

Combined with the unique selection of wines this made the dinner absolutely unmissable.

The Monkey Gallery was founded by four bright 20-somethings (born in the year of the Monkey 1992). The restaurant is part dining room, part dessert bar and part gallery where the canvas extends beyond the plate into minimalist surroundings, an open kitchen and an interactive presentation.

The enjoyment of delicious food, with elegant fashion and unforgettable style saw 2020 off to a wonderful start. It’s going to get even better as there is an event-filled calendar programmed. We look therefore forward to seeing you soon!
