The Tourism College MODUL of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded in 1908. It is one of the most renowned educational centres for tourism internationally.

The pillars of the programme are comprehensive general education; well-founded practical knowledge; foreign languages; economic and social skills. MODUL provides the best career prospects in the tourism industry.

MODUL’s Principal (Maître Rôtisseur Werner Schnabl) and its Department Head of Practical Knowledge (Conseiller Culinaire Honoraire Gottfried Gansterer) invited the Bailliage to the traditional “Heringsschmaus” (herring feast).

In great demand consequently the dinner quickly sold out.

Chaîne members and their guests were welcomed with sparkling wine from Bründlmayer, Schlumberger and Steiniger.

Also we enjoyed a delicate buffet with Austrian prosciutto ham, MODUL Gillardeau oysters bar, Aibler smoked fish specialities and herring salad red and white.

- Rotgipfler Rodauner 2018 from the Alphart Winery, Traiskirchen
- Grüner Veltliner Emerald "Kreutles" 2018 from Knoll in Unterloiben
- Perwolff 2017 from Krutzler in Deutsch-Schützen
- Zweigelt 2015 red wine from the Angerhof Tschida Winery, Illmitz

Everyone was full of praise for the young kitchen and service brigades as well as their lecturer.

Conseiller Culinaire Provincial Roman Keller paid tribute to the achievements of both brigades. He presented the Bailliage’s commemorative plate for special gastronomic services to Conseiller Culinaire Honoraire Gottfried Gansterer.
