Jani Paasikoski, a true passionate fan of cooking, is a highly-trained professional chef who has invested time and commitment in his development to create a broad, solid base within the culinary sphere. Currently Chef Jani works as a kitchen designer and gastronomic consultant.

Born in Helsinki in 1980, his early years were spent between Lapland and the Costa del Sol. Graduating in 2000 from the School of Hospitality Priimus in Jyväskylä, Finland, his professional culinary career began.

Chef Jani moved to Malaga where he enthusiastically explored various and demanding Mediterranean cuisines. Going from restaurant to restaurant along the coast in 2004 he ended up at the Michelin 1-star Restaurante Via Veneto in Barcelona.

He has had the privilege of working in many Michelin star restaurants subsequently - for instance, the El Racó d'en Freixa in the initial project of Dos Cielos and the Bravo del Hotel Vela - thus working with masters such as Ramon Freixa, the brothers Sergio and Javier Torres and Carles Abellán.

Jani observed that despite the fact that this year circumstances are not normal for celebrating World Chaîne Day this was not a reason to stop the party!

Quarantine Recipes

Wanting to help people through the challenging situation Jani decided to post two “quarantine” recipes every day which are easy to prepare and taste good - one for lunch and for dinner.

Because he is passionate about cooking, he wants to encourage everyone to take advantage of the time we have now.

“Cooking together with your family, eating better, enjoying spending the time to teach your kids how to cook: whatever your reason I hope this inspires and motivates you to explore the culinary arts”, says Chef Jani.
