USA World Chaîne Day

Let the ingredients shine
"We dined al fresco "

World Chaîne Day lunch (or more accurately “high tea”) for a couple of COVID-19 isolated members was a gourmet meal all about sourcing the ingredients then letting them shine.

We dined al fresco on our Provençal oil cloth covered table partnered with a classic Provençal rosé.

The delights enjoyed included …

Charcuterie platter (set on an Oklahoma cutting board)
Pink Lady apples; Marcona almonds; homemade Meyer lemon marmalade; Lebanon bologna from a family farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; English Royal Stilton; English farmhouse cheddar cheese actually from near Cheddar Gorge in southwest England.

Vegetable platter
Carrots; French breakfast radishes salted with fleur de sel; cucumber slices; Campari tomatoes with black Cypriot lava salt and drizzled with Knolive Epicure olive oil from ancient olive groves outside Prego de Córdoba, Andalusia.

Sandwiches
Homemade honey wheat bread cucumber and mint sandwiches following the Royal household recipe using homemade cultured butter and French Camargo fleur de sel.

Pimento cheese
Made from extra sharp aged Oklahoma cheddar, celery seed, horseradish, and pimentos served on homemade sourdough Ezekiel bread.

It is our hope and prayer that fellow Chaîne members around the world found themselves similarly blessed.

As is written in the Book of Psalms, “Taste and know that the Lord is good”.
