The history of a tradition
The story of the Macià Batle family begins in 1856. 163 years later success and recognition continue to accrue demonstrating a winning formula.

From the start excellence was foremost. Bodegues Macià Batle is clearly committed to the uniqueness of indigenous grapes and their valuable combination with international varieties. Selected grapes from Majorcan vines of the Mantonegro and Callet varieties, with contributions from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah (for reds) and Prensal with Chardonnay (for whites), make for interesting blends.

Sunshine 300 days a year enjoyed by Mallorca is a definite factor for quality. However
the estate’s success is also influenced by having a team of expert winegrowers and oenologists who produce modern wines with body, and excellent aroma and flavour exported throughout Europe.

Key dates

Mallorca Wines
In 2007, the Mallorca geographical indication was recognized and regulated for wines with the right to the traditional mention of “vino de la tierra Mallorca”. [Ed. Vino de la Tierra” is one step below the mainstream Denominación de Origen indication on the Spanish wine quality ladder.]

Awards, recognitions and special editions
National and international awards and recognitions endorse this long-standing winery’s history making it the most awarded in Mallorca.

Occasionally, Bodegues Macià Batle launches special limited editions of its wines which are the clearest example of the winery's real ability to create top-of-the-range wines. Once agreed an artist, established or emerging, designs the label to dress the bottle showing its’ specialness.

Social awareness
Bodegues Macià Batle hosts an annual charity concert called “Concert de la Lluna a les Vinyes”. A classic of the Mallorcan summer, it is held at its facilities. In conjunction with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, it’s organized for the benefit of the “Amics de la Infància” (English: Friends of Children Association).

Ramón Servalls stated in a recent interview that “Mallorcan society is increasingly more supportive. Every day we are more aware of helping those who need help the most. In the hardest years of the economic crisis, citizens continued to contribute their grain of sand, aware that if they were not having a good time, there were many others who were experiencing a much more complicated situation.”

Wine appreciation
Talking about wine, which needs aplomb, engages all the senses: hearing when uncorking the bottle; listening as it’s poured; sight discovering its colour; smell bringing wine to the nose; finally taste, sampling the wine’s temperature and flavour. Bodegues Macià Batle invites our senses to enjoy great wines, forged through its history.
