Château du Mylord: outstanding!
" All the wines were exceptional combinations with their respective courses "
Fortunately, the lockdown was relaxed sufficiently for us to have our first lunch of the summer at Michelin 2-star Château du Mylord. Originally it was planned as a three-day extravaganza but coronavirus obviously put paid to that! Nobody had wanted to book nor were they able to commit in advance.
For some Chaîne members it was their first time out after lockdown. Champagne Ayala Blanc de blancs 2013 at the reception got the event off to a great start.
The lunch was fun. Conseiller Culinaire Jean-Baptiste Thomaes, owner of Mylord, pampered us with a great menu.

The Sommeliers and Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) members among the participants were challenged to guess which wines were which. All the wines were exceptional combinations with their respective courses.
We ended with our Bailliage of Belgium “Chaîne Blend Coffee”. Every guest in the restaurant received a packet to take home as their introduction to the Chaîne in Belgium.
