China Halloween Dinner

Bailliage of China
Shanghai, October 31, 2020

At Club 33, Shanghai Disneyland
" an exclusive view of Disney's spectacular fireworks and laser projection show "

“The ultimate exclusive dining experience at Club 33 with the delights of Halloween night at Disneyland.”

On this spooky Halloween evening, the Bailliage hosted a costumed dinner at Club 33 within Shanghai Disneyland. Out of all the Disney parks around the world, Club 33 is full of mysterious sophistication. Dressed in special costumes and makeup 74 members participated in this fantastic, exciting evening.

We gathered on Club 33’s terrace, facing the Disney castle with a beautiful sunset backdrop over the theme park. After a group photo, the welcome party began with Henri Giraud ‘Blanc de Craie’ Champagne, paired with a great selection of savoury canapés. We officially started dinner early at 5pm - timed to link in with the park’s special firework shows and parade.

Bailli Délégué Allen Wong greeted everyone with the traditional Chaîne introduction. Food and Beverage Director at Shanghai Disney Resort, Conseiller Culinaire Alan Orreal, introduced the menu he had created as well as the wine pairings he had selected for this fabulous evening. Without a doubt, Alan is one of the most celebrated culinary professionals in the world today. His style can be described as modern global cuisine which reflects the dynamic, borderless outlook to his menus and gourmet designs.

The dinner was separated into three parts with two breaks. The first break allowed members and guests to enjoy an exclusive view of Disney’s spectacular fireworks and laser projection show. The second break featured a special Halloween show which included fantastic floats and Disney characters who paraded below the Club’s second floor terrace.

Bringing this spectacular evening to a close, Bailli Délégué Allen Wong and Bailli of Shanghai, Echo Ren, presented Alan Orreal and his team with a Bailliage Commemorative Plaque in appreciation and recognition of their hard work in making such a fantastic culinary plan a reality.

The magical Halloween night ended with a happily-ever-after viewing of a second spectacular fireworks show, accompanied by a water fountain and laser light show surrounding the castle.

Our members were overwhelmed by the atmosphere, surrounding sights, sounds and tastes of this magical culinary event. Definitely a great evening to remember!

Vive la Chaîne!
