Celebrating the 2020 Beaujolais Nouveau

The Bailliage had the privilege of being associated with the presentation of the 2020 Beaujolais Nouveau during an exquisite dinner organised by the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé on November 19th. A total of 120 people enjoyed the evening.

It is unusual for the Bailliage to be associated with an event that is open to the public but the Hilton Hotel invited the Chaîne to add a touch of prestige to the arrival of the 2020 Beaujolais Nouveau.

So it was that the guests gathered in a stunning setting to share the excitement of celebrating friendship, fellowship, fine food and, of course, the reason for the event… BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU!

The spread of COVID-19 in Cameroon has been kept under control and there have not been many cases here. That is why we were able to meet, taking preventive measures including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

Bailli Délégué Chloé Balanos, as well as 36 members including a delegation from the Bailliage of Douala and friends of the Chaîne, joined the Hilton’s guests. In her opening words, and in a room full of inquisitive eyes, the Bailli Délégué, adorned with her ribbon, briefly introduced the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, triggering interest which should help to increase the Bailliage’s numbers.

Ed. Beaujolais Nouveau’s release date changed significantly between 1951 and 1985. Since 1985, it has been launched on the third Thursday in November. This year, it has been available since Thursday 19 November 2020. And what does the 2020 vintage taste like? Seductive, fruity and delicious.
