Cameroon Dinner

Bailliage of Yaoundé, Cameroon
Yaoundé, December 11, 2020

Seafood themed evening
" the Chef tantalised our taste buds with fresh ingredients from the local coast "

Members and their guests met at the charming “Ô Vive” restaurant at the Hilton Hotel for an evening dedicated to seafood in a decidedly festive atmosphere.

Indeed, this was the Bailliage’s last dinner in 2020, a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bailliage has had to reinvent itself several times to avoid falling into the totally understandable psychosis brought on by this illness. It has had to adjust its meals and its choice of restaurants to comply with the rules imposed by the Cameroon authorities relating to the protective measures that need to be taken.

For over two hours the Chef tantalised our taste buds with fresh ingredients from the local coast and some unusual delicacies from further afield. One dish followed another, in an array of flavours and colours, like the waves washing up on the shore.

The understated setting, the festive atmosphere, the judicious selection of wines and the presence of distinguished guests such as His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt, contributed to make this a truly memorable evening.

In her speech Bailli Délégué Chloé Balanos took the opportunity to extend her very best wishes for health, happiness and prosperity in the New Year to all members, guests, their families and their loved ones. She expressed her hope that 2021 would be a most delicious year, and that every day would be a delight for everyone.
