Lithuania Gala Dinner

Bailliage of Lithuania
Vilnius, December 3, 2016

Celebrating 10 years of the Chaîne in Lithuania

Bailliage members and their guests came to the historic building in Vilnius Old Town that is the headquarters of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society to celebrate ten years of the Chaîne in the country. With Christmas just around the corner it in fact was a double celebration.

Under the leadership of Bailli Délégué Romalduas Zakarevičius since being founded in 2006, the National Bailliage has steadily grown to now have 80 members. Romalduas is the owner of the Hotel-Restaurant Stiklai, a Relais & Chateaux member establishment hailed among locals as a “bastion of local, fresh and seasonal gourmet fare”.

The Stiklai‘s culinary team has crafted unique and inspiring dishes for many a Bailliage event over the years and so it was for this 10th anniversary dinner with the special menu composed by the hotel‘s Executive Chef Linas Brazinskas.

Before the dinner, commemorating the event with song was the duo of Hector Sandoval and Nomeda Kazlaus from the Philharmonic Society. The most popular and favourite melodies were chosen for their performance: arias and duos from operas, musicals, zarzuelas and overtures. The soloists were accompanied by the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra (conductor Contantina Orbelian).

Afterwards in the banqueting room, before taking their seats the members and guests were enraptured by a performance by the “Liepaitės”, the girls of the Vilnius Choir Singing School.

It was a wonderful evening of culture - musical and gastronomic. The stately surroundings of the Philharomic Society’s banqueting room lavishly decorated by the florist Mantas Petruškevičius certainly added to making the celebratory evening one to be remembered for a long time to come.
