OMGD United Arab Emirates Inauguration Chapitre

Bailliage of United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi, March 11, 2017

Theme for the evening: celebrating Pinot Noir

The Bailliage inaugurated its Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) section at this Chapitre held in the Marco Pierre White Restaurant at the Fairmont Hotel, Bab Al Bahr.

In keeping with the vinous objectives of the OMGD the theme for the evening was a celebration of the Pinot Noir grape, showcasing its many faces, depending on its origin and treatment.

For our introduction to the grape, we chose Champagne Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé, taking the opportunity of the beautiful setting to introduce some members to the art of sabrage.

Eleven members were inducted into the OMGD by Bailli Délégué Ian Fairservice acting as the inducting officer. He was assisted by Échanson Elect, Sandeep Sathees.

With input from the outgoing Executive Chef, Cladys Magagna, Chef Gianluca Cazzin had prepared delicious dishes expertly-paired with our chosen wines. (NB. Given that the wines were the feature of the event, exceptionally they were shown before the food on the menu)
