Informal event at The Sands at Nomad

The flawless stretch of white sand kissed by the lapping waves of the majestic Indian Ocean was the backdrop for Mombasa’s celebration - albeit a day later - of this year's World Chaîne Day.

The Sands at Nomad in Diani hosted a stunning informal lunch on a perfect day for a beach outing.

Members and guests arrived by coach on which they had enjoyed chilled Prosecco with some mouth-watering canapes.

Once at The Sands, everyone was treated to champagne and cocktails as they took in the marvellous view - clear blue ocean with an Arab sailing boat on the sail of which was printed the Chaîne logo to celebrate the moment. What a magnificent sight!

Lunch was a delicious buffet spread.

To begin there was a variety of fresh salads and sushi, carpaccio, Indian Ocean fish salad and butternut squash soup to whet the appetite.  For the main course the highlights on the menu included slow-cooked leg of Nanyuki lamb, crab and avocado gratin, grilled jumbo prawns, as well as roasted rib-eye from the carving station. Desserts included white chocolate cheesecake and tropical fruit crostata.

It was a truly spectacular manner to celebrate World Chaîne Day in an informal yet magnificent setting.

Food and Beverage manager Richard Glaser went out of his way to ensure the highest standard of hospitality which was enjoyed by all members and their guests.
