Chinese New Year celebration

Our event was held at Le Pinacle Restaurant in collaboration with LaVilla Restaurant.

Entering into Le Pinacle is an experience similar to being in a museum with its unique displays and range of rare vintage wines, cognacs, whiskeys, Chinese liquors and other spirits. Along with these, is a vast selection of rare teas and antique porcelains among many other treasures.

Members and their guests celebrated what was at the time of the event the upcoming Chinese New Year of the Pig on February 5th. The Pig is the 12th of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.

The auspicious arrival was celebrated in style with a sumptuous array of luxurious culinary delights. Among the delicacies featured were lobster accompanied by fresh crab meat and caviar as well as Chaîne member Lily Cheh’s award winning home-made braised whole “Gibbon” abalone accompanied by Akato sea cucumber and bathed in a luscious brown sauce.

It was a fantastic prelude to the Chinese New Year with members sharing in the gastronomic experience combined with Chaîne camaraderie.
