The Induction Ceremony to launch this newest local Bailliage in Mexico was held in Playa del Carmen. Conrad Bergwerf was inducted as Bailli and he introduced his newly-appointed Council members.

Playa del Carmen is a city located along the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo. It is a popular resort area in eastern Mexico with a wide array of tourist activities due to its geographical location on the Riviera Maya. It has also been the destination of leading golf tournaments and the set location for television shows. The town has become one of the fastest to grow in population size in Mexico.

With the support of the Bailliage Council, Conrad organised a special programme to celebrate the event hosted at the Azul Beach Resort. A beautiful parade of colours and textures created the perfect environment that was buzzing with camaraderie as old and new friends mingled.

The Induction Ceremony was presided over by Bailli Délégué Thierry Blouet, a Member of the Conseil Magistral, who was honoured to represent President Yam Atallah.

Conseiller Culinaire Abelardo Vara, Sergio Gonzalez Rubiera (Bailli of Cancùn) and Philippe Fournier (Bailli of Cozumel) were all notable among the attendees.

The Gala dinner was served in the Azul Beach Resort’s Le Chique Restaurant, one of the top 10 restaurants in Mexico well known for its avant-garde (modernist) cuisine. All our senses were delighted with colours, flavours and the fine details that make the difference. Chef Jonatán Gómez Luna and his culinary team have certainly mastered the art and science of cooking to achieve astounding new sensations of shape, textures and above all taste.

The event at Playa del Carmen impressed us immensely. We are eagerly waiting to see what further events this new local Bailliage will organise.
