Mexico transported to a residency garden
" the hotel especially flew in a Mexican chef "

The Bailliage held a Mexican themed dinner at the residence of the Mexican Ambassador, His Excellency Miguel Angel Isidro, and his wife Patricia.

The Jumeirah Hotel catered for the occasion with a superb, genuine menu featuring dishes from all over Mexico. The attention to detail was such that the hotel especially flew in a Mexican chef who brought with him all the authentic ingredients for this magnificent banquet.

Yucatan - “Tostada de Pulpo al pibil”
achiote braised octopus, crispy tostada, avocado and chipotle puree

Hidalgo - “Taco de Barbacoa”
house made blue tortillas filled with braised lamb shank

Acapulco - “Pescado a la Talla”
pan-seared seabass, chile costeno, chipotle-plantain puree

San Luis Potosi - “Nopal”
cactus and tajin chilli powder

Sonra - “Costilla”
12 hours braised short rib, tomatillo sauce, black bean puree
huazontles, baby corn, tamal

Mexico City - “Churros”
crunchy fried pastry, Mexican chocolate sauce & caramelised goat’s milk

It was a certainly an evening full of Mexican flavours, colours and sounds with musicians flown in for the event as well as colourful shirts for the service team, napkins and table decorations. As a result we experienced a magnificent trip to Mexico within the lovely atmosphere of the garden of the Ambassador’s residence.

Members and their guests were truly spoiled by the amazing efforts and cuisine which made this an unforgettable event.
