Vito Mory wins National Final
" six talented young chefs showed off their culinary skills "

The National Final of the Bailliage’s Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition, organised by Conseiller Culinaire Jean-Baptiste Thomaes of the Michelin 2-star Château du Mylord, took place at the Hotelschool Ter Duinen.

Throughout the day six talented young chefs showed off their culinary skills to a professional jury.

In the finest traditions of the Competition they set to work with a black box in order to create their individual three course menus. The prepared dishes were judged on flavour, presentation and originality.

The Competition was followed by a Gala Dinner at the part of the Bailliage’s Chapitre programme at Het Gravenhof in Torhout.

The winners announced during the dinner were:
- Winner: Vito Mory from Bistro Raposa who received the Gold Medal
- Runner-up: Florian De Ruyck from Restaurant Bianchin (Silver)
- Third Place: Maxime Ulens from Auberge le Sabotier (Bronze)

Vito Mory scored most points for his method of working in the kitchen. The prize for the best starter, main course and dessert went to Florian De Ruyck.

Vito will now be representing Belgian at the international competition in Calgary (Canada) on September 20th.

Quite a challenge awaits Vito but we are quite confident he will do very well.
