Led by its Bailli Délégué Gérard Canarie, the Bailliage organised a friendly dinner on Friday 30 June, in the impressive setting of the Automobile Club de Monaco.

More than 90 Rôtisseurs and friends gathered to enjoy a menu that was specifically prepared for the occasion, under the watchful eye of Jean-Luc Dufayel.

Throughout the evening, Yves Medio, a Chaîne member, charmed everyone with his performance of great jazz standards on the clarinet and tenor saxophone, as well as singing some of the big hits by the great crooners, from Nat King Cole to Frank Sinatra, via Dean Martin and Bing Crosby.

Ed. The Automobile Club de Monaco or “ACM” is best known for organising the Monaco Grand Prix and the Monte Carlo Rally. It also organises other races such as the Monte Carlo Historic Rally and the Monte Carlo Alternative Energy Rally.

Founded in 1890 as a cyclist association, the club started welcoming motorists in 1907. The club stopped organising cycling races after the First World War and was renamed the “Automobile Club de Monaco” in 1925.

The Monaco Grand Prix was part of the European Championship in the 1930s and was included in the first Formula 1 World Championship of Drivers in 1950. The Grand Prix has taken place without interruption since 1955, and despite some minor tweaks over the years, it still basically follows the same circuit as the inaugural route used in 1929.
