The Bailliage of Shanghai held a dinner at the French Consul General's residence. Tickets sold out within 90 minutes!

The residence was built in 1964 after France had become the first Western nation to establish ambassadorial exchanges with the People's Republic of China under the premise of “evidence and rationality” (as per Charles de Gaulle).On October 21, 1980, France also became the first country to set up a Consulate in Shanghai.

We invited Chef Davide Mastrangeli from the Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai to create the gourmet menu. This hotel applies a tradition of legendary service. One of creating memorable gatherings making Ritz-Carlton’s name synonymous with luxury.

At the beginning of the banquet, we invited Bailli Délégué Allen Wong, who is a Member of the Conseils d’Administration and Magistral, to give a welcome speech. M. Joan Valadou, French Consul General in Shanghai, confirmed that, in 2024 on the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, there will be another Chaîne event in the beautiful Villa Basset Official Residence.
