Liechtenstein Solstice Dinner

Bailliage of Liechtenstein
Vaduz, June 23, 2017

In the venerable surroundings of the Gasthof Löwen

Each year, the Solstice is celebrated in the Bailliage of Liechtenstein with a dinner. Once again this year it proved to be an extremely enjoyable event.

In a special ceremony, held in the venerable surroundings of the Gasthof Löwen in Vaduz, the oldest hotel and restaurant in Liechtenstein part of which dates back to 1388, the Bailliage accepted the inn into its ranks as a member establishment of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

To mark the occasion Bailli Délégué Daniel Jäggi presented the Chaîne Professionals plaque to Maître Restaurateur Adele Gantenbein and Maître Rôtisseur Holger Grondziel. The plaque guarantees patrons of the establishment that its products are of consistently high quality. "Not every fine establishment is a member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, but every member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is a fine establishment," enthused Bailli Délégué Jäggi.

The inclusion of the Gasthof Löwen means that Liechtenstein now has another member in its ranks with a proud culinary heritage. For the hotel and restaurant, it is recognition of its constantly improved culinary offerings. "We are delighted to be able to welcome Liechtenstein's oldest inn into our ranks," said Jäggi, “the fact that a traditional establishment such as Gasthof Löwen still serves some of the best food in the Principality testifies to the importance of good cuisine in Liechtenstein.”

Perfect summer weather meant that guests were able to enjoy a wonderful evening in the inn's garden. With a clear view of Vaduz Castle, the seat of the Princes of Liechtenstein, members and their guests were served a superb dinner.

A live band entertained the group throughout the evening. Argentier Honoraire Reto Silvani is a very good singer (our “Pavarotti”) and he joined in with providing the entertainment.
