The Bailliage joined the worldwide celebration of World Chaîne Day 2019 by organizing a complimentary cocktail reception for its members. The event took place in the spectacular Presidential Suite of the Swissôtel the Bosphorus Istanbul.

The 50 members joined by their families and guests enjoyed the wonderful weather and views of the Bosphorus and city both from the large terrace, as well as from the floor to ceiling windows of the suite. The kitchen and service brigade supervised by the hotel’s Executive Chef Ali Ronay and the Banquet Service Manager Metin Aykan served a delightful assortment of cold and warm snacks also desserts paired with superb red and white wines sponsored by “Chamlija Wines”.

Photographer Serkan Durmusoglu, a prize winner in the 2018 World Chaîne Day photo competition, was busy taking pictures of the guests and posting them on the Social Media Walls. The children tried out the Presidential bed by jumping up and down on it before giving it their final approval! The adults on the other hand were also having a fun, joyful time. This year’s celebration of World Chaîne Day was yet another memorable one.

At the end of the afternoon Bailli Délégué Mohamed Hammam gave a brief introduction to World Chaîne Day: where it started and how it has developed into a worldwide celebration. He was then assisted by the National Board members present, as well as the children in cutting the special World Chaîne Day cake. Then Mohamed presented Executive Chef Ali Ronay with a Bailliage Commemorative Plaque in recognition and appreciation for the efforts of everyone involved in the fine execution of this event.
