Fine food and wines galore
" an exciting gastronomic event "

120 members and guests celebrated our 44th Chapitre in the Grand Salon, Grand Hyatt Singapore.

Champagne Duval Leroy Authentis Trépail (Premier Cru) 1999 was served at the welcoming reception. For the Induction Ceremony, on this occasion our own Member of the Conseil Magistral, Bailli Délégué Honoraire Dr Ted Lee, inducted new members, promoted others and presented many “Silver” Commandeur awards.

At the reception canapés were much enjoyed with Champagne Krug Grande Cuvée ‘Édition 166’.
Delicacies offered were:
- Quail egg lollipop, Gruyère cheese glazed, truffle
- Taramasalata, salmon roe, crispy baguette
- Smoked trout tartare, grain mustard, chives, red radish
- “Vitello tonnato” - light poached loin of veal, tuna crème, herbs, prawn cracker

The intimate dinner was held at the mansion-styled Grand Salon where its integrated show kitchen kept us thoroughly entertained. We watched spell bound the culinary team of Master Chefs putting together their dishes with skill and precision.

It was an exciting gastronomic event ranging from the exquisite canapés to the “Exotic Beef Pie” finishing with the infamous Chef Gottfried’s masterpiece.

Since water can only be served upon request, we kicked off the evening with Krug Grande Cuvée Édition 166 Champagne as we slowly navigated to the wines of Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay and Château Haut-Brion.

During our annual Chapitre dinner it is our tradition that we honour the top event and the best three dishes of the year during dinner. This year, the best event went to Labyrinth. For the dishes, the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners were Edmund Toh, Mikuni and the Copthorne King's Hotel respectively.

From the perfectly-orchestrated Induction Ceremony through the formal reception and on to the intimate dinner with live music, it certainly was an impressive and memorable evening for all those in attendance. Many were dancing the night away on the dance floor!
